On Mondays, there is usually live tropical music at the Jet Set, in western Santo Domingo (Av. Independencia Km 6). Popular bands are regulars at this nightspot that is open Monday, Friday and Saturday from 9pm and features the city’s only led-lit dance floor.
Hard Rock Café at Blue Mall (Av. Winston Churchill corner Av. Gustavo Mejía Ricart) promotes its Latin Dance Nights with live dancing music on Tuesday evenings.
Ferro Café (Calle Manuel de Jesús Troncoso, Plaza Dorada) is popular for live tropical music on Thursdays and Saturdays.
El Sarten on Calle Hostos 153 in the Colonial City is well known for its Wednesday nights, when a crowd gathers also for karaoke singing.
Bonyé (Ruinas de San Francisco, Colonial City) is the traditional tropical music outing for locals and tourists alike. On Sundays, people begin to gather around 5pm to await sunset with a flow or popular guest singers joining the Bonyé band performances.
