Students at public high schools have yet to get their physical textbooks

Believe it or not. Students studying at public high schools nationwide have yet to receive their physical textbooks. With three months for the 2021-2022 school year to end, the Ministry of Education has not even completed the steps for the tender for the books.

The National Council of Education approved on 16 February the digital versions of the books.

The distribution of textbooks got their start on 18 February in elementary schools. But, it appears the high school students may finish the year without a receiving the books.

Furcal all along opposed the return to in person learning in 2020 and 2021. In 2020 and 2021 he also impeded the opening of private schools until the intervention of Vice President Raquel Peña ordered the reopening of these under Covid-19 protocols. Reality proved Furcal was very wrong as the spread of Covid-19 did not affect schools as he had warned.
