
Show del Mediodía host and producer Ivan Ruiz was named the new director of the government television channel 4 (CERTV).
“This is a powerful media and a team, and with passion we can leave a great legacy to the nation with creative and innovative content, always working as a team,” Ruiz said accepting his appointment from the CERTV board that is presided by Ellis Perez.
Other members of the CERTV board are Milagros Germán, Minister of Culture; Roberto Fulcar, Minister of Education; Franklin García Fermín, Minister of Higher Education; Miguel Ceara Hatton, Minister of Economics, Planning and Development; Samuel Pereyra Rojas, general administrator of Banreservas; Samuel Antonio Conde, president of Acción Empresarial por la Educación (Educa) and Ynalda Mercedes Castillo Sandoval, former president of the Dominican Guild of Journalists.
Ruiz replaces journalist Nelson Marte, who resigned due to health reasons.
Iván Ruiz is a professional with strengths in advertising and production, with more than 30 years in the TV media. He has taken numerous professional courses in advertising, marketing, cinematography, television production, drama and voice-over. He began his career in TV at 18 years in 1985 under the late TV producer Yaqui Núñez del Risco.
He has been part of several television programs. For many years he served as production director of Color Vision, Channel 9. He was also director of the Roman Catholic Church channel Televida. In recent years he is known as producer and host of the noontime show, “El Show del Mediodía” and the “Enfasis” televised interview show. He is the CEO of the advertising agency Neuronas Creativas.
