Easter Week is here

Sacred music Good Friday concerts are a reason to head to the Colonial City.

So no one may doubt that Easter Week (10 April to 17 April 2022) is vacation time in the Dominican Republic, the Ministry of Public Administration announced public offices will close at 4pm on Wednesday, 13 April 2022 and remain closed until reopening the next Monday, 18 April.

For the most part, resort areas will be very active receiving the domestic travelers. Hundreds of thousands of locals will be leaving the cities to visit resorts and ecotouristic sites for the holiday. For those that can do the reverse, the cities are an attractive option because they are at their best without the traffic jams.

Likewise, the Colonial City of Santo Domingo, where most of the Roman Catholic churches are located, is a major draw for those staying in the city. Check out the Ivan Tovar Immersive Experience, the Thursday evening Colonial City churches walk, and the Good Friday 5pm sacred music concert at the Santo Domingo Cathedral.
