
Discussions continued this past week on the Ministry of Labor draft resolution to regulate the hiring and work conditions of domestic help in the Dominican Republic. The Ministry of Labor issued the draft to adapt the conditions to the general guidelines of International Labor Organization Convention 189 on Domestic Workers. The Dominican Republic is a signatory of the ILO Convention 189. The Ministry of Labor draft resolution includes additional benefits in line with benefits of those employed in formal jobs.
