An Argentinean businessman accused of swindling many in his home country would have been deported back to Argentina. In Argentina, Leonardo Cositorto of Generación Zoe is accused of defrauding several people through the Ponzi or pyramid scheme. He is scheduled to answer to justice in the province of Córdoba, Argentina for crimes of illicit association and swindling, pressed by at least 36 complainants, Clarin newspaper reports.
Clarin says he was expected back on Monday, 11 April 2022 and would be taken to court on Tuesday. He was arrested the previous week in Juan Dolio, San Pedro de Macoris. The deportation was facilitated because he had illegally entered the country.
Clarin reported that after two months of searching, Interpol agents found Cositorto living in the Juan Dolio beach vacation area in the Dominican Republic. Cositorto continued to stream videos to his followers online using a VPN device to hide his real address.
