If you live or are traveling in Greater Santo Domingo, finding an automatic teller machine to get cash is a piece of cake. Gas stations, malls and lots of banks have tellers that are open 24/7.
Diario Libre, nevertheless, warns people that the number of ATMs in the interior of the country varies.
For instance, Pedernales and Independencia (Jimaní) provinces in the southwest, have only two cash machines each.
As of February 2022, the Central Bank says there are 3,425 installed nationwide.
