The government’s Metropolitan Office of Bus Services (OMSA) is now operating the Ciudad Juan Bosch-Hipódromo corridor. The Omsa route will allow transfers to the 27 de Febrero and Independencia avenue routes with a single fare. The fares on the Omsa bus route are RD$15, lower than the RD$35 charged to board the new buses now operating exclusively as public-private alliances with transport syndicates on the Av. Núñez de Cáceres. Av. Winston Churchill and Av. Charles de Gaulle routes.
This first time bus transfer will be allowed for those boarding at the Hipódromo module of the entity, paying a single fare of 15 pesos.
The main beneficiaries are the residents in the large Ciudad Juan Bosch residential community. These will now be able to travel through the entire residential area, passing through Avenida Ecológica towards the Hipódromo, on Avenida Hípica, from where, if they so wish, they will be able to continue to the 27 de Febrero or Independencia routes.
Likewise, users of the 27 de Febrero and Independencia bus corridors will be able to transfer to Ciudad Juan Bosch, making a transfer at the Hipódromo, without having to pay again.
This initiative seeks to respond to the needs of the residents of Ciudad Juan Bosch, who with a single ticket will be able to travel to and from the center of the city.
This new Omsa route is the longest in Greater Santo Domingo.
