The Mayor’s Office of the National District (ADN) broke ground last week for the fourth phase of the Santo Domingo Malecon Promenade, which will comprise 3.5 kilometers and an investment of RD$208 million by the Dominican government.
National District Mayor Carolina Mejía explained that the sidewalks will be widened and new green areas added from Wascar Tejeda Street to Núñez de Cáceres Avenue. Mejia said that 160 light poles will be installed.
Mejía said that the project includes the construction of the parks La Yagua, Los Heroes and La Española. Since her start as mayor of Santo Domingo, Carolina Mejía has already built 79 parks in the National District for citizen recreation.
