The Ministry of Culture announces museums will stay open until late and be free to the general public on Saturday, 25 June on occasion of the “Long Night of Museums” event. Culture Minister Milagros German said that this year museums all around the country will be incorporated into the celebration of museums and culture. She announced cultural centers in Puerto Plata, Santiago, Higuey and Moca will be participating in the summer 2022 program.
Most of the museums to stay open are located in Santo Domingo’s Colonial City, the Plaza de la Cultura Juan Pablo Duarte between Av. Maximo Gómez, Av. Pedro Henriquez Ureña and Av. Cesar Nicolas Penson avenues. The event will be from 10am to 12 midnight.
There will be guided tours of museums in Puerto Plata, Santiago, Higuey and Moca, in addition to those in Santo Domingo.
