National Ballet of Ukraine to present Swan Lake at the National Theater

It will be the first time that the National Ballet of Ukraine by Grand Kyiv will perform in the country.

The Kyiv Grand Ballet is scheduled to present the classical ballet, “Swan Lake” on 4 July 2022 at the Carlos Piantini Hall of the Eduardo Brito National Theater.

Alexander Stoyanov will be the director and is expected to come with a cast of 35 outstanding ballet artists graduated from high-level choreography schools, mostly from the State Choreographic School of Kyiv (Ukraine).

The ballet performance is a production by BigStarSD, the local entertainment company.

The Kyiv Grand Ballet is, the national ballet of Ukraine and a leading ballet company. At present, it is touring in Poland, France, Norway, Argentina, Chile, Guatemala, Paraguay, Puerto Rico, among other countries.

“Swan Lake” is a tale of love between Prince Siegfried and the fragile Odette, whom the wicked sorcerer Rothbart has condemned to be a swan during the day and a beautiful princess at night. The prince will do the impossible to twist fate and seal their love. “Swan Lake” was first performed on 4 March 1877 at the Bolshoi Theater, Moscow (Russia).
