The Ministry of Environment reported the salvaging of an area privatized in the Miguel Domingo Fuerte (Cachote) Natural Monument, a protected area. The Army and the National Service for Environmental Protection (Senpa) intervened the invaded area. The Ministry of Environment accuses Jesus Gomez Diaz, a resident in La Cienaga, Barahona and Enmanuel Feliz Ferreras, of the illegal takeover of the protected area. Illicit constructions built in the park area were dismantled.
