It’s official: DR has an ambassador accredited in Tajikistan

Ambassador Hans Dannenberg Castellanos became the first accredited Dominican ambassador to the Republic of Tajikistan in Central Asia. Diplomatic relations date back to 25 May 2010. Dannenberg presented credential letters to President Emomali Rahmon.

Rahmon is the longest-serving leader in the former Soviet Union. He has held office since 16 November 1994. His rule is through 2027.

Rahmon called for developing bilateral cooperation in cultural, trade, education and science exchanges. He said that cooperation in the area of tourism is of much interest, recognizing advances in this area made in the Dominican Republic.

Dannenberg congratulated Rahmon for the success of the recently Water for Sustainable Development international conference in Dushanbe, Tajikistan from 6-9 June 2022. The conference focused on catalyzing water action and partnerships to contribute to the implementation of water-related goals and targets of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Paris Climate Agreement and others.
