Sports Illustrated Swim Suit Issue in Punta Cana; builds resort in Punta Cana for 2023

Sports Illustrated is promoting its June 2022 Swim Shoot in Punta Cana. Via YouTube, the magazine promotes the destination. “Punta Cana is one of the most popular beach destinations in the Caribbean for a reason—miles and miles of pristine coast. As one of our 2022 shoot locations, our 2022 model roster was eager to jump in the water, enjoy the views and experience this incredible paradise in the Dominican Republic,” says Sports Illustrated.

Sports Illustrated is now branching out from magazines and publishing and lending its name and spirit to a new line of resort hotels.

The first Sports Illustrated Resort property is expected to be inaugurated in 2023 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Located in Cap Cana, in southern Punta Cana, the property and adjacent will offer its guests golf, sportfishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, horseback riding, water sports, zip lining, biking, hiking and more.

“The mission of Sports Illustrated Resorts is to provide a vibrant and interactive experience,” said Joseph Cellura, Chairman of ADMI Inc., and Christopher Schroeder, CEO of Experiential Ventures Hospitality LLC, in making the announcement. “People are looking for experiences that allow them to be more active and participatory, and Sports Illustrated Resorts will create the ultimate immersive experiences for guests through the various hospitality categories and destinations we plan to enter.”

California-based Storyland Studios is in charge of the master plan and the design of the immersive experiences, which are called Sports Illustrated Hotels and Resorts.
