RD$22 million to equip Salesian vocational workshops

The Presidency has donated RD$22 million for equipping the Don Bosco vocational schools in the National District. Administrative Minister of the Presidency Jose Ignacio Paliza was at the main center to deliver the donation. Around 1,200 young people benefit daily from the technical courses offered at the Salesian Technical Institute.

Father Ronny Stephan Díaz, ITESA’s director, received the donation and expressed his pleasant surprise for the quick response to their request for equipping the training workshops. “Society needs the men and women that are training with us,” he remarked.

The electronics, computer science, electricity, industrial mechanics, multimedia and graphic arts workshops will now be getting new equipment.

ITESA is part of the Salesian School Network of the Antilles. It has an enrollment of around 1,200 students from the National District, including the communities of Los Guandules, Guachupita, Cristo Rey, María Auxiliadora, Ensanche Capotillo among others.
