Miss Universe 2022 will not be held in the Dominican Republic. According to media reports, the event would have cost the Dominican government US$15 million.
Nevertheless, the critical obstacle to the hosting of the event is that resorts in Punta Cana where the event would have been held are booked for the year.
Andres Marranzini, executive director of Asonahores made the announcement that the event would not take place in the country in 2022.
