Dominicans in the MLB All-Star Game

Four Dominicans are to play in the Major League Baseball All Star Game set for 19 July at the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California. Another eight were named reserves.

The named players are:
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (Toronto Blue Jays) will play first base for the National League.
Rafael Devers (Boston Red Sox) will play the same position for the American League.
Manny Machado (San Diego Padres) was chosen to play third base for the National League.
Albert Pujols (St. Louis Cardinals) was also chosen to play in the All Star Game. Pujols is in his final season. CBS reported he was chosen not for his present stats, but for his overall career achievements.

American League reserves are third baseman José Ramírez (Cleveland) and fielder Julio Rodríguez (Seattle Mariners). Pitchers are Framber Valdez (Houston Astros) and relief pitchers Emmanuel Clase (Cleveland Guardians) and Gregory Soto (Detroit Tigers).

Dominicans named National League reserve players are outfielder Juan Soto (Washington Nationals), outfielder Starling Marte (NY Mets). Dominican pitchers for the National League are: Sandy Alcántara (Miami Marlins) and Luis Castillo (Cincinnati Reds).
