Eight ambassadors presented letters of credence to President Abinader

President Luis Abinader, Vice President Raquel Peña and Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez, received the Letters of Credence for the new ambassadors of Paraguay, Chile, Lebanon, Guinea Bissau, Angola, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Armenia on Friday, 8 July 2022. The representatives of Paraguay and Chile are based in Santo Domingo, while the ambassadors of the other six states are concurrent for the Dominican Republic with residence in Venezuela, Cuba, Washington, United States and Canada.

Enrique Luis Insfran Miranda is the new ambassador of the Republic of Paraguay. He is an engineer and career diplomat. Before arriving in the Dominican Republic, the ambassador of Paraguay served as president of the National Boundary Demarcation Commission in his country.

Axel Eduardo Cabrera Martínez, from the Republic of Chile is a history and geography professor and career diplomat. Previously, he was a minister counselor for Chile in France.

Elias Lebbos, from Lebanon, also serves as ambassador in Venezuela.

María Batista M. Tobarda, from Guinea Bissau was previously director of foreign policy for her country.

María Cándida Pereira Teixeira from Angola was previously Minister of Education. She is based in Cuba and is concurrent with Panama and Cuba.

Lakshitha Pradeep Ratnayake from Sri Lanka is a political scientist and career diplomat. He is based in Cuba.

Shahidul Islam, from Bangladesh is a former Secretary General of Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation.[3] He has served as Ambassador of Bangladesh to France and South Korea. He is concurrently ambassador to the United States, Belize, Colombia, Guyana and Haiti.

Anahit Harutyunyan from Armenia is a career diplomat. Previously she was the Chargé d’Affaires at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Armenia to to UN and other International Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. She is based in Canada.
