World Dance Stars Benefit Gala to be held in Santiago and Santo Domingo

World dance stars are booked for performances on Thursday, 25 August 2022 at the Gran Teatro del Cibao in Santiago and on Saturday, 27 August 2022 at the National Theater in Santo Domingo. The World Dance Stars Benefit Gala will curtain at 8pm in Santiago and 8:30pm in Santo Domingo.

On its 60th anniversary, the Asociación Cibao de Ahorros y Prestamos is sponsoring the dance performances that benefit the cerebral palsy foundation, Nido de Angeles.

Mónika Despradel, who presides Nido para Ángeles and produces the gala, informed that the first dancers, Rachele Buriassi and Esnel Ramos from Canada; Kleber Rebello from France; from Cuba Dani Hernández and Grettel Morejón will be on stage. Also from Switzerland, Irmina Mulligan and Jorge Garcia from Austria; Liudmilla Konovalova, Nathalia Arja and Alex Peters from the United States and Croatia Guilherme Vitic and Iva Vitic. Each ballet star will perform two pieces, both from the repertoire of the great classics and contemporary compositions.

Talented young emerging dancers from companies in the Dominican Republic, several of whom were born in the city of Santiago de los Caballeros, will also perform in this world dance program. On the list, the outstanding choreographer Pablo Perez, who will be in charge of the piece “Corteza” with guest dancers from the Dominican National Ballet including Maikel Acosta, Elios Orozco, Darel Perez, Demi Issa, Yuleidi Perez and Maria Estefanny Almonte, as a guest. Erick Guzmán will also be on stage with a piece of his own.

From the city of Santiago, the Ballet Clásico de Santiago, directed by Norma García, will be in charge of the piece “Distante Figura,” choreographed by Andy Palma with dancer María Fernanda Espinal.

The World Dance Stars Charity Gala will serve to establish a collaborative alliance with the Patronato Cibao de Rehabilitación, to share best practices, strengthen and develop the programs offered to the population with cerebral palsy, and contribute to inclusion.

The Fundación Nido Para Ángeles is a pioneer center, specializing in Cerebral Palsy in the Dominican Republic. The foundation was created to develop the best quality of life that can be given to children and young people with this condition.
