
There is an old Dominican saying that says “new brooms sweep better” and this seems to apply to Hugo Beras, the newly installed director of the National Institute for Ground Transportation (Intrant), in charge of traffic and transportation for the entire country.
Beras, on his first week on the job, announced 16 new bus corridors in Greater Santo Domingo and Santiago de los Caballeros. His predecessor had already installed three (Núñez de Cáceres, Winston Churchill and Charles de Gaulle avenue routes) working with the Ministry of the Presidency public-private alliance programs.
