A new book tells the story of 20th Century actress Maria Montez. The Guardian features a biographical account on the legendary star, a native of Barahona in the southwest of the Dominican Republic.
Photographer and author Tom Zimmerman wrote the biography, “The Queen of Technicolor: Maria Montez in Hollywood.”
The American author also puts Montez’s life in context and gives details of her role as a cultural icon and a living representation of the United States’ Good Neighbor Policy with Latin American countries.
