Bodies is back; this time at Sambil Mall

“Bodies: Real Human Bodies” is in Santo Domingo after years of touring cities in South America. The exhibition opens at Sambil Shopping Mall on Av. John F. Kennedy in Santo Domingo on Friday, 26 August 2022.

With state-of-the-art screens, LED lighting and an interactive tour, “Bodies” amazes the general public. The exhibition teaches about human anatomy, physiology and health. People can view actual human bodies preserved through Plastination, the preservation process invented by University of Heidelberg anatomist, Dr. Gunther von Hagens in 1977.

The body is a work of art. Eight complete bodies, five torsos and more than 100 individual organs tell how it works. The effects of major diseases and smoking on the human body are shown.

The exhibition seeks to educate. Professional and virtual guides are available to guide visitors, generating an entertaining and recreational experience for both children and adults.

Luxury 27 SRL of the Dominican Republic and Arriba el Telón Latinoamérica present the exhibition that is open Monday through Friday from 12 noon to 8pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 9pm. The exhibition is closed on Tuesdays.

The entrance fee is RD$350 for adults and RD$200 for children, senior citizens and school groups on weekdays. Fees are RD$400 and RD$250 on weekends.

A similar exhibition (Body Worlds) was first shown when Agora Mall was inaugurated in late 2012.
