
The Dominican Republic men’s senior team lost to Venezuela in the Santo Domingo qualifier window for an Americas slot in the FIBA World Cup. The game ended 76-72 in favor of Venezuela. The first quarter ended 51-31. The quarters were: 28-13, 23-18, 16-27, 9-14.
The Dominican Republic next plays Argentina on 10 November 2022.
The games are part of the second phase of the qualifiers for the FIBA 2023 Basketball World Cup to be held in Indonesia, the Philippines and Japan.
The FIBA Americas qualifier is in its second round. The next second-round windows periods are November 2022, and February 2023 with two games per team being played in each window.
At the end of these other six games per team, the top three teams in each group, plus the best fourth team, will qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.
In Group E in the fourth window, the Dominican Republic is inn fourth place behind Canada, Venezuela and Argentina.
