No more AFP! No more ARS!: CMD March set for 7 September

The Dominican Medical Association (CMD) and the 56 specialized medical societies that it groups announced plans are going forward for the protest march set for Wednesday, 7 September 2022 in the National District.

The protest is against the abuses of the Health Risk Administrators (ARS) and the Pension Fund Administrators (AFP). The companies are managed by leading financial entities in the Dominican Republic and report high profits.

The CMD calls for people to join the march starting at 10am from the CMD headquarters to the headquarters of the National Social Security Council (CNSS). The CMD is located at Calle Paseo de los Médicos, corner Calle Modesto Díaz, Zona Universitaria, Santo Domingo, Tel. (809) 533-4602.

The march slogan is: No more AFP! No more ARS!

The president of the CMD Senen Caba, added that this march is not only for doctors and members of this guild, but rather, it is a civil march, as they assured that the reduced benefits from the health and pension plans is an issue that influences the life of all the Dominican people.
