
President Luis Abinader met on Tuesday, 30 August 2022 for about an hour at the Presidential Palace with a mission of members of the New York State and New York Assembly.
Visitors were New York State senators Luis R. Sepúlveda, Gustavo Rivera, Rusking Pimentel and Joanna Méndez, Gustavo Rivera and Leroy Comrie and Assemblymen Al Taylor and Phil Ramos.
The mission is here to promote joint projects in the areas of travel, education and health insurance and economic development. They also seek to facilitate access to driver licenses for migrants, scholarships and lowering of taxes on airfares.
Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) senator Alexis Victoria Yeb accompanied the senators to the meeting with President Abinader. He said the mission will meet on Wednesday, 31 August with Dominican legislators.
Senator Luis Sepúlveda of the 32nd District of New York explained the mission would meet on Wednesday, 31 August with Dominican legislators to promote work on bills that benefit the diaspora and Dominicans in general.
“This is the first visit, but it will not be the last,” said the New York senator in declarations to the press after the meeting with President Luis Abinader.
