Oregon World Athletics Cup 4 x 400 women’s relay gold medal winner Fiordaliza Cofil raced setting a personal best in the 400m in the Brussels Diamond League race on 3 September 2022. She clocked in at 49.80, improving her previous PB time of 50.13. Cofil defeated the race favorite, Sada Williams from Barbados.
Cofil is now ranked 5th in the world in the 400 m behind Shaunae Miller-Uibo of Bahamas (PB49.11), Femke Bol of Netherlands (PB49.44), Marileidy Paulino of the Dominican Republic (PB49.49), and Sada Williams of Barbados (PB 49.75).
The win came with a US$10,000 cash prize.
Cofil and Paulino were on the 4 x 400m mixed relay team that won gold in the Oregon Athletics World Championships this year.
