
The Tax Agency (DGII) reports tax revenue collections for January to August 2022 amounted to RD$439.76 billion, a 7.8% growth and RD$31.85 billion more than in 2021. The total is 70.2% of the RD$626.09 billion in tax revenues collected by the central government institutions for the period. The DGII surpassed the budgeted estimate by RD$38.83 billion for a 109.7% compliance.
Tax collections for August 2022 were RD$49.85 billion, or RD$3.55 billion more than budgeted, for 107.7% compliance.
In the breakdown of taxes for January to August 2022, the DGII says that ITBIS tax was the best performer, generating RD$13.25 billion, up from RD$11.63 billion for the month.
Corporate Income Tax and Tax on Assets produced 2022 of RD$9.53 billion, while in 2021 RD RD$12.28 billion.
People paid RD$6.82 billion in Personal Income Tax, in August 2022 compared to RD$5.61 billion in 2021.
Likewise, the Selective Taxes on Fuels contributed RD$6.16 billion in 2022 compared to the same period of last year when it was RD$5.37 billion.
The Selective Tax on Alcohols and Tobacco Taxes contributed RD$2.12 billion in August 2022 and RD$2.23 billion for the same period of 2021.
