Bachata music is one of the most popular sounds in the Dominican Republic and many countries around the world. Romeo Santos is perhaps the premier exponent of this genre of music. And he indeed scored a major milestone when his new album Formula, Vol. 3 hit Number 1 on Spotify at the beginning of this month. He was also #3 in the United Kingdom. The album follows eight years after his Formula Vol. 2.
It had been two years since Santos released his last album, Utopía. The famous Formula series with Vol. 3 came out on 1 September 2022. Santos had posted a teaser of the album to Instagram. The video teaser featured a crown, which signifies that he will be reclaiming his title as the King of Bachata once again. A new song also played in the background of the clip.
The content and rhythm of the music made by this singer, musician and songwriter is sufficient to strike a chord with listeners all over the world. And he competes successfully against rap, hip-hop, urban, merengue and Mexican music.
On this album, Santos is joined by Justin Timberlake, who threw himself wholeheartedly into the world of bachata. The record has a little bit of everything, including duos with Rosalia, Ruby Perez, Toño Perez and Fernando Villalona.
