The Comprehensive Program for the Urban and Tourist Development of the Colonial City in Santo Domingo has begun the field work to design and develop the efforts to revitalize the area for tourists and residents alike. The information gathered will serve as the tool to be used in these efforts.
Gallup Dominicana will carry out the survey, after winning the tender to do this work.
The end result should be renewed investments in the area, more jobs, and a higher standard of living for the residents.
The program to revitalize the Colonial City is funded primarily by a InterAmerican Development Bank loan for US$90 million. The works include renovations at museums, public spaces, and historical monuments in the area.
