Santo Domingo hotels were not affected by Hurricane Fiona.
Casa de Campo in La Romana has announced it is back in operation after landscaping clean up.
Puerto Plata hotels suffered minor damages and are operating normally.
Hotels in Las Galeras, Samana that did not have concrete roofs suffered damages. Several hotels in this area are closed. Samana City suffered damages and is under intense reconstruction efforts. Las Terrenas is rapidly recovering, several hotels and restaurants were impacted, but many have reopened.
Hotels in the Miches area suffered major damages.
Those headed for Cap Cana or Punta Cana hotels should double check with the management.
The Presidency website in a press release quotes Tourism Minister David Collado stating that September 2022 will set another record in tourist arrivals, breaking for the first time the barrier of 400,000 foreigners in a month of September. Collado said the hotel sector is helping their employees whose homes were affected. Higuey is the bed town to most employees who work in the Punta Cana area.
