2022 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship update

The Dominican Republic defeated Croatia 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-21) in the continuing of the first phase of the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship taking place in the Netherlands and Poland. Gaila González, Brayelin Martínez and Yonkaira Peña drew 13 points each, Jineirys Martínez added 10 more.

The DR will next play Turkey in Gdansk, Poland.
24 teams are participating in the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB)World Championship from 23 September to 15 October 2022. The teams are divided in four pools of six teams each. The DR (ranked 8th by FIVB) is playing in Pool B against Korea (ranked 24th), Turkey (ranked 6th), Poland (ranked 12th), Thailand (ranked 14th) and Croatia (ranked 22nd).

The top four teams from each of the four round-robin pools will advance to the second pool phase of the tournament.
