Codevi reopens in Haiti

The Compagnie Développement Industriel (Codevi) that operates the largest free zone in Haiti announced the reopening of its manufacturing operations. “We are ensuring stability and continuity for our 20,000 formal workers, customers, suppliers and related parties,” stated the company in a press release issued on Monday, 3 October 2022.

The operations had shut down after a mob of violent Haitians assaulted the installations causing damages last week. Codevi is located with installations in Ouanaminthe in Haiti and Dajabón, in the Dominican Republic.

“With the firm commitment assumed in our company to maintain and create more jobs every day in both countries and after an exhaustive planning and review of protocols, we have restarted our operations in the Codevi park today,” the company informed in a press release.

“We are ensuring stability and continuity to our 20,000 formal jobs, customers, suppliers and related parties.”

The company says that the well-being of thousands of families will be guaranteed. It gives thanks for the support provided by the authorities of both countries and others.
