Rafael Guerrero of Corrupcion al Desnudo YouTube channel presents the Punta Cana International Airport surveillance video showing new irregularities in luggage procedures in a recent drug case. This time, he shares video that shows Dominican military at work in an inside luggage screening room in the airport. The video shows when a military removes the tags of a red suitcase and then throws the tags into the trash can, sending the luggage through the system without tags. Guerrero points out that several other military were witnesses to this action and other suspected actions by the military and did not act. These would be the same red suitcases that later appeared tagged with the name of a passenger, Julia Benoit. Surveillance videos provide evidence of the woman’s innocence.
The Corrupcion al Desnudo video is a follow up to others presented by Guerrero of the case of Julia Benoit, a 65-year old would-be passenger of Tuifly to Brussels, Belgium, who has been accused in trafficking with drugs. Guerrero earlier had presented evidence in a Punta Cana International Airport surveillance video that showed that the woman arrived to the airport with a black and blue luggage and how a counter employee prints out separate tags using her identity. The surveillance video shows how he pockets the new tags and later leaves the area to board a vehicle outside the terminal. The two red bags would later be tagged with her identity.
Julia Benoit, meanwhile, spent 10 days in jail and is still subject to preventive custody measures, as the authorities have not concluded the investigations.
