
The World Triathlon organization announces the celebration of the 2022 World Triathlon Development Regional Cup Santo Domingo and National Championship. The event is scheduled for 15 to 16 October at Sans Souci Beach in eastern Santo Domingo.
Athletes from Aruba, Barbados, Bermuda, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Puerto Rico are eligible to compete in this event. The categories are U17, U19 and U23, and are for athletes aged 16 to 23 years old.
The sprint distance (swim) is shortened to 750 meters, while the cycling distance will be 20 kilometers, and the running distance will be five kilometers.
On the other hand, the super sprint distance will be 350 meters swimming, ten kilometers cycling and 2.5 kilometers running.
The event is a qualifier for the San Salvador Central American and Caribbean Games in 2023.
Franklin de la Cruz is the local chief organizer. He is the president of the Dominican Triathlon Federation (Fedotri).
The event kicks off on Saturday 15 October 2022 at 6:45am.
