Domino-playing is a passion in the Dominican Republic. Listin Diario reports that Miguel Torres, a native of San Cristobal province, is the new Femundo 2022 World Domino Champion. Torres won the title during the 3rd World Domino Championship Santo Domingo 2022 organized by the International Domino Federation The championship was held Friday, 30 September to Sunday, 2 October 2022 at the Catalonia Hotel in the National District.
Torres was the best in the individual modality, finishing with a 10-1 record and effectiveness of 2.246. He won the championship title and a US$5,000 cash prize.
Edward Burgos, in the master category, was the winner of more games. He finished with a record of 18-4, with effectiveness of 1.429, and won a cash prize of US$1,000.00.
The International Domino Federation is organizing the 18th Annual World Championship in Punta Cana for this 23 to 30 October 2022 at the Barcelo Bavaro Grand Resort.
