Park Where You Should (Parqueate Bien) extended to Naco

The executive director of the National Institute of Transport and Transit (Intrant), Hugo Beras announced that the pilot parking program implemented on 13 streets in the Seralles and Piantini area of the Polígono Central of the National District (Santo Domingo) has been successful. Beras says 212 drivers and vehicles were in violation. Of these, 194 vehicle owners paid fines to retrieve their vehicles after these were towed.

The parking program now is being extended to all streets in the Naco neighborhood also in the Polígono Central residential and commercial district.

The program seeks to eliminate double parking on Polígono Central streets.

Beras said the Naco streets already have most of the signage that is needed for the Parqueate Bien program.

As part of the program, tow trucks remove the vehicles that violate the signage. A temporary low-cost tow rate of RD$1,000 is being charged and the vehicles are being towed to a Polígono Central storage.

Beras says the Naco program will be implemented on these streets: Heriberto Pieter, Orlando Martínez, Licenciado Carlos Sánchez, Padre Fantino Falco, Max Henríquez Ureña and Roberto Pastoriza.
Also, Profesor Aliro Paulino-Gilberto Gómez, Tetelo Vargas, Salvador Sturla, Presidente González, Gustavo Mejía Ricart, Rafael A. Sánchez, Cub Scout, Gracita Álvarez, Manuel Perdomo, Doctor Emil Kassé Acta, Luis Alberti, Boy Scouts and Calle Z.

Other streets in the program are: Doctor Luis Lembert, Del Carmen, Jaycees 72, Socrates Nolasco, Santa Maria, General Cambiazo, Alberto Larancuent y Manuel Henriquez and Ingeniero Juan P. Bonilla streets.

“Parquéate Bien” is an inter-institutional effort that has the participation of the Intrant, the Traffic Safety and Land Transportation Agency (Digesett), and the National District Government (ADN).

On Tuesday, 4 October 2022, Beras also presented highlights of the Intrant mobility plan now that he has been at the helm of the organization for the past two months.
