The Puerto Plata Chamber of Commerce (CCPPP) and the Foundation You Are the Country (Tu Eres el Pais – Funtueep) announce the start of an effort to instill driver safety in the people of Puerto Plata. The Puerto Plata city government, the Traffic Agency (Digesett), the Tourism Police (Politur) and the Ministry of Culture, neighborhood councils and the Ivan García Drama School are collaborating in the effort.
For 16 days, pantomime will be used to raise the population’s awareness on the importance of respecting traffic laws and regulations.
Mileyka Brugal, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Puerto Plata, signed for the chamber and Frindy Martínez Vela, president of Funtuepp, for the foundation.
Funtueep carried out a successful driver’s education project in Santiago. In Santiago, the program reached out to school children to start early to create awareness.
