Families ask for more funds to find missing people

Families told Diario Libre there are 126 unaccounted-for persons in the Dominican Republic. The families urge the government to allot more funds to the Criminal Investigations Division (Dicrim) of the National Police so Dicrim agents can increase efforts to locate the missing. The families say the Dicrim has a staff of 10 people to look for missing people all around the country.

The families call for the government to order military members to participate in the searches.

The families met for a watch outside the Presidential Palace. National District deputy Orlando Jorge Villegas met with the families and said he would help arrange an appointment with the Minister of Interior Jesus (Chú) Vasquez.
