
The Ministry of Public Health is recommending that children, pregnant women, seniors and vulnerable adults and health professionals get the seasonal influenza shot. The Ministry says it has 475,000 doses on stock available for free inoculation at the more than 1,000 vaccination stations nationwide. Deputy Minister for Collective Health Eladio Perez says that since the start of the influenza campaign 6,500 people have been inoculated. The Ministry says that people need to redouble hygiene precautions.
The Ministry recommends that those with flu symptoms resume using facial masks to avoid spreading the virus. The Ministry urges people to avoid contact with those with flu symptoms, frequently wash hands and see a doctor in case of malaise to avoid complications.
