Miami Marlins pitcher Sandy Alcántara is the winner of the second edition of the Juan Marichal Award for the most outstanding pitcher in the MLB baseball regular season. The award honors Juan Marichal, the first Dominican baseball player to enter the MLB Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame. The runner ups were Albert Pujols, Many Machado, Jose Ramirez, Framber Valdez and Julio Rodriguez.
The Juan Marichal Award was created by the company Line Up International to award the most outstanding Dominican baseball player of each Major League Baseball season.
The award is endorsed by Juan Marichal himself in an alliance with Line Up International and the Dominican Baseball Federation.
