Dominican Jazz Festival in Puerto Plata

The 24th Dominican Republic Jazz Festival is set for November 2022 with free concerts on Friday and Saturday, 11 and 12 November at Cabarete Beach, Puerto Plata. The organizers, the Dominican Education Foundation (Fedujazz) promise the same good music and good vibes of past years. The program had recessed in 2020 and 2021 for the Covid-19 pandemic. On the agenda are free music workshops by professional musicians in Sosua. Family activities are also on the program.

“We are extremely happy and excited to bring back these concerts that with good music unite hundreds of people who love jazz,” said Maria Elena Gratereaux, president of Fedujazz. She explained that the festival has a positive impact on the children and adolescents who learn music through foundation programs. Using jazz as a teaching platform, Fedujazz teaches youths in Puerto Plata to play the piano, drums, saxophone, guitar, bass, violin, cello, among other instruments.

The Ministry of Tourism is sponsoring the event.

The organizers are announcing the line-up for the 2022 festival. So far on the program:
