5th Iberoamerican Accessible Tourism Summit

Santo Domingo is hosting the RiturAccess’s 5th Iberoamerican Accessible Tourism Summit from 1 to 2 November at the Santo Domingo Sheraton. Participants are from 10 countries – Spain, Mexico, Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Costa Rica, Colombia, Argentina, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic.

Rafael Blanco Tejera, president of Asonahores, and Yudith Garcia, director of AHSD made the announcement.

The event is organized by the National Hotel & Tourism Association (Asonahores) and the Santo Domingo Hotels Association (AHSD) withe the collaboration of the Santo Domingo Tourism Cluster and the City Government of the National District. It has the backing of the Ministry of Tourism. Other entities that are collaborating in the organization are: the National Council of Disability (Conadis), the Dominican Rehabilitation Association (ADR), the Association of Persons with Physical Disabilities, the Dominican Basketball Association in Wheel Chairs (Fedobasir), among others.

The summit is a forum for debate and connector of efforts and strategies for accessibility for people with disabilities and reduced mobility, responsible and socially sustainable tourism.
