Investigators suspect an unnamed person household employee of the murder of interior decorator, makeup artist, choreographer and folklorist Victor Erarte. The employee has not returned to work.
Hoy reports that Erarte died of a blow to the head on Sunday, 30 October 2022 in his home in Jardines Metropolitanos in Santiago city. The family suspects robbery was the reason for the murder. Reports are that the murderer stole the mobile of the deceased.
The preliminary report by forensic Angel Castillo states that Erarte died of cranioencephalic trauma. He corrected reports that Erarte had died from stab wounds.
The Central Investigation Agency (DICRIM) is in charge of the investigations.
The municipality of Santiago declared mourning for Erarte.
Just this August 2022, the government councilors in Santiago had recognized Victor Erarte’s artistic career and a mural with his face was painted in h is honor on a city street. On Friday, Erarte was one of the main organizers of the Santiago Carnival. He had last week led the organizational event presided over by Santiago governor Ros Santos.
