President Luis Abinader was in San Cristóbal on Sunday, 6 November 2022 to mark the commemoration of the 178th anniversary of the proclamation of the Dominican Constitution. He delivered works in this province for more than RD$697 million, including the José Francisco Peña Gómez Children Reformatory, the 23-classroom Ivelisse Prats de Pérez Public School in Haina for 800 students (operated by Fe y Alegría Catholic Church operation) and the reopening of the Sánchez Highway where it connects the ring road to the toll booth and from the ring road to the entrance of San Cristóbal, a length of 14 kms.
