Judge Lissa Veras sent 30-year old Francisco Javier García Quezada to preventive custody for three months as his case is heard in a National District court. The court assigned a public defender to García Quezada. García Quezada confessed to the murder of 30-year old Jesus Cuevas, whose remains were found dismembered in a plastic tank on Thursday, 3 November 2022. He was killed on 6 October.
The remains of Cuevas were found wrapped in plastic bags in the tank on a balcony in the residence of the accused, at kilometer 7 of the Sanchez highway, in the National District.
Relatives of the deceased attributed his tragic end to differences in the loan business that the victim and his executioner had together.
As reported in Diario Libre, Cuevas worked at a construction company where he earned commissions for selling real estate, and made informal loans to earn extra cash. In this business, his partner was García Quezada. As reported, Cuevas had made two transfers to García Quezada shortly before his death… one for RD$12,000 and another for RD$100,000.
Jesus was the oldest of four brothers.
