Government improves Palenque Beach

The Ministry of Tourism announced it has approved RD$95.5 million for infrastructure improvements at Palenque Beach in southcentral San Cristóbal. Tourism Minister David Collado said that the beach area of 4,200 square meters is being intervened. The beach is a drive of less than an hour west from the capital city.

“Today, we are fulfilling our promise to improve the entire Palenque beach area. From this work there will be a before and after, here, on this beautiful beach,” said Minister Collado last week. He said the work will translate into more revenues for the local people.

Palenque Beach is a short drive from Santo Domingo. It is a place to go for a dip in the Caribbean and some of the best fried fish.
