Roosevelt Comarazamy passes away

Legendary sports writer and sports broadcaster Roosevelt Comarazamy passed away on Monday, 14 November 2022. He was 74 years old.

He had graduated from law from the UASD with high honors in 1970, but dedicated himself to teach journalism and to a career as sports chronicler. He narrated baseball, volleyball and basketball with the same ease. He had been part of the basketball team in the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1966. He was inducted to the Dominican Sports Hall of Fame in 2019.

He worked internationally, participating as a supervisor in the press departments for the volleyball championships the Olympic Games in London 2012 and Rio de Janeiro 2016. He served in the same role at the World Championships in 2010 in Japan and Italy 2014, and world club events in Brazil and Qatar. He was director of communications for the FIVB for the Norceca region.
