New boardwalk in Cabrera

Vice President Raquel Peña accompanied Tourism Minister David Collado for the inauguration of Cabrera’s 600-meter-long boardwalk. The touristic pathway was built by the Ministry of Tourism’s infrastructure fund at the cost of RD$73 million. The path is a linear park with an area of 7,350 square meters, including 2,170 square meters of sidewalks.

There is an arena, pedestrian walkways, universal access ramps, landscaping, plazas, children’s play area, and lots of space for group exercises.

The Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, highlighted the importance of the boardwalk and the contribution that tourism makes to the economy.

“A good example of this development is here today, in Cabrera, one of the northeastern municipalities with the most tourist attractions in the whole country, due to its strategic location in front of the Atlantic Ocean.”

Minister Collado and Vice President Peña also announced the start of the pedestrian walkway from Lorenzo Álvarez Street to Duarte Street, a US$1.5 million project.
