A Santo Domingo Christmas tradition, the Banco Popular Dominicano Nativity story is back on stage at the parking area of the Banco Popular headquarters on Av. John F. Kennedy. The free performances are in their 31st year.
The tradition tells the story of Mary and Joseph in Nazareth, and how one night Mary is visited by Angel Gabriel who explains that God is to send his son to earth for mankind and that Mary would soon have a baby named Jesus and would be God’s son.
Employees of the Banco Popular stage the production under the direction of leading theater producer, Iván García. Around 45 actors and 30 singers to bring Christmas spirit to all with their performance on Sundays in December (11, 18 and 25 December 2022).
