The VG27 Foundation, headed by baseball star Vladimir Guerrero Jr., his father, Hall of Famer Vladimir Guerrero Sr., and Dominican physician Felix Antonio Cruz Jiminian joined together to hold a free clinic and medical operation in the community of Don Gregorio in Nizao in the province of Peravia (Bani).
Over 500 persons were treated, operated on and provided with medicine.
Eyeglass frames were provided to over 200 persons. Harelip, cleft-palate, glaucoma, cataracts, and pterigion were diagnosed. The Cruz Jiminian Clinic will operate on these cases. Pterigion is a non-cancerous growth on the clear portion of the eye that can reach the cornea. It is common among persons who spend a lot of time outdoors.
